After being reincarnated as a slime in a new world, the former human Satoru Mikami has been busy building a new life for himself. In That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Original Japanese Version) season 1 episode 3, "Battle at the Goblin Village," Satoru finds himself drawn into a conflict between goblins and direwolves.
When the goblin chief Gobta approaches Satoru asking for his help to defeat the direwolves who have been attacking their village, Satoru agrees to lend his assistance. Together with Gobta and a small group of goblins, they head out to track down the direwolves' den.
Their journey isn't without danger, as they soon come across a group of lizardmen who attack them. Satoru reveals his special ability of being able to absorb his enemies and use their skills as his own. He absorbs the lizardmen and gains their abilities, including their heat-detection skills which help them locate the direwolves' den.
Once at the den, they're ambushed by the direwolves who put up a fierce fight. It soon becomes clear that the direwolves are being controlled by something even more powerful. In the midst of the chaos, Satoru transforms into a more powerful form and uses his abilities to defeat the direwolves and their leader.
After the battle, Satoru earns the respect of the goblins and is named their new leader. He sets about bringing reforms to the village, including establishing a trading relationship with humans and other races in the area. However, not everyone is happy with Satoru's leadership and a new threat emerges, one that will test Satoru's abilities and newfound position as the goblin's leader.
