However, Ann Marie soon discovers that Dr. Bauer is not the compassionate therapist she expected, but rather a cold and distant man who seems more interested in analyzing her than helping her. As she tries to open up to him about her fears and anxieties, she finds herself becoming more and more frustrated with his lack of empathy and understanding. Despite this, she continues to attend her sessions, hoping that she can find some solace in his analysis.

When Ann Marie confides in him about her therapy sessions, Don becomes jealous of Dr. Bauer's attention and starts to worry that Ann Marie will leave him for a more successful man.
