Ep 6. Rich Little Rich Kid

That Girl is a classic sitcom that aired from 1966 to 1971 on ABC. It follows the life of Anne Marie, played by Marlo Thomas, a struggling actress trying to make it in New York City. In season 1, episode 6 titled "Rich Little Rich Kid," Anne Marie finds herself caught up in the world of high society when she starts dating a wealthy young man.

Things come to a head when Jerry's mother throws a fit after she finds out that one of the guests spilled a drink on her expensive dress. Anne Marie tries to comfort her, but the woman is inconsolable. Jerry takes Anne Marie aside and begs her to leave with him before things get any worse. Anne Marie agrees, but as they are leaving, Richard stops her and asks for her phone number.

The next day, Anne Marie is at home when Richard calls and asks her out on a date. She hesitates at first, still unsure if he is genuinely interested in her or if he just wants to see what it's like to date a "normal" girl. But eventually, she agrees, and they make plans to meet that night.

At dinner, Anne Marie is pleasantly surprised to find that Richard is still the same charming, funny guy she met at the party. They have a great time together, but as the night wears on, she can't help feeling that there is something he isn't telling her.

Finally, Richard confesses that he is actually a struggling actor, not the wealthy and famous celebrity he pretended to be at the party. He tells Anne Marie that he was afraid she wouldn't give him the time of day if she knew the truth. Anne Marie is shocked but also touched by his vulnerability. She tells him that she likes him for who he is, not for his money or his fame.

The episode ends with Anne Marie and Richard walking arm in arm through the streets of New York City. They are both happy and carefree, having put aside their differences and learned to appreciate each other for who they truly are.
