The episode Sally Simpson from season 6 of That 70's Show begins with Eric finding a new hobby in magic tricks after turning to Fez for advice on how to be successful with women. However, his new found talent is short-lived when Donna reveals that Sally Simpson, their high school crush, is back in town. Eric becomes obsessed with the idea of impressing Sally with his new trick but when he shows her, she is less than impressed.
Meanwhile, Jackie and Hyde continue to struggle with their new relationship dynamic as Jackie tries to change him into the perfect boyfriend. Hyde, who has always been a rebel at heart, becomes increasingly frustrated with her controlling behavior and decides to break up with her. Jackie is devastated and seeks comfort from Kelso, who is all too happy to lend an ear and possibly rekindle their romantic relationship.
Elsewhere, Red struggles to come to terms with the fact that his baby girl is growing up when he catches Laurie making out with her boyfriend in his basement. He decides to deal with the situation in his own way, but his plan backfires when Granma Forman reveals a secret from Red's past that leaves him questioning his own parenting skills.
The episode ends with some resolution for the characters, as Eric realizes that Sally Simpson was never the girl of his dreams and that Donna is the one he truly desires. Jackie and Hyde reconcile after Hyde realizes that he loves her despite their differences. Red learns to let go and trust his daughter to make her own decisions and gets some much-needed perspective from his own mother.
