Eric is finding it challenging to get over his breakup with Donna. He is spending his time wallowing and contemplating the end of their relationship. Kelso attempts to cheer him up by introducing him to his cousin, who is a nurse. Eric is initially uninterested, but Kelso convinces him to come to the hospital where she works and meet her.
Meanwhile, Red is also having health issues and is convinced that it's nothing serious. However, Kitty insists that he have a check-up, and they end up at the same hospital where Eric meets his nurse. Jackie and Fez, who have been secretly seeing each other, also happen to be at the hospital for an appointment.
While at the hospital, Eric gets a taste of what it's like to be a nurse's assistant and is impressed by the work that they do. He decides that he wants to pursue a career in medicine and starts looking into nursing programs. However, his mother and friends are not as supportive, believing that nursing is not a manly career.
Red's health situation escalates, and he is admitted to the hospital, where Eric and Kelso continue to spend time with the nurses. Meanwhile, Fez and Jackie's relationship hits a bump when they meet Fez's crush from his ESL class, and Jackie becomes jealous.
In the end, Eric decides against pursuing nursing and instead follows his dream of becoming a teacher. Red's health condition turns out to be just a scare, and he is released from the hospital. Jackie and Fez make up and continue their relationship, and Kelso's cousin leaves town, leaving Eric heartbroken once again.
Overall, this episode tackles themes of career aspirations, relationships, and health scares while adding the humor and nostalgia that That 70's Show is known for.
