Ep 20. No Quarter (a.k.a. Jackie Moves In)

Eric and Donna have been broken up for quite some time, but they still live together in the basement of Eric's parents' house. Jackie has been kicked out of her house by her dad and has been staying at a motel. Feeling bad for her, Hyde suggests that she move in with him and Leo, but that idea doesn't sit well with Jackie. Meanwhile, Eric and Donna's living situation becomes difficult when Donna brings her new boyfriend, Randy, into the basement to study. Eric can't stand Randy and his constant use of the word "cool."

As Jackie scrambles to find a new place to live, Kelso suggests that she move in with Eric and Donna. Jackie isn't thrilled about the idea, but when Eric offers to let her stay rent-free and promises to set up a separate living area for her in the basement, she begrudgingly agrees. However, things get rocky when Eric and Jackie can't seem to stay out of each other's personal space.

Meanwhile, Donna and Randy are having trouble studying due to Eric's constant interruptions. Randy suggests that Eric find a hobby to occupy himself during their study sessions. Eric decides to build a model car, but the new hobby proves to be just as distracting as his incessant need to be around Donna.

As the living situation with Jackie becomes more and more strained, Eric decides to build a wall to separate their living spaces. However, he soon realizes that he's accidentally walled himself out of his own basement bedroom. To make matters worse, Jackie decides to throw a party and Eric is left to sleep on the couch in the living room.

The next morning, Eric is furious with Jackie for throwing a party without his permission. Jackie is equally upset with Eric for building the wall and making her feel isolated from the rest of the household. As tensions rise, Hyde encourages Eric and Jackie to try to coexist peacefully in their shared living space.

Towards the end of the episode, Kelso convinces Hyde to give Leo's van a try. After driving around in the cramped and uncomfortable vehicle, Hyde agrees to buy it from Leo.
