Eric and Donna's relationship is in a bad place, and Donna is starting to feel like a third wheel as she's constantly caught between Eric and Casey. Casey is Eric's friend who has recently been spending a lot of time with the couple - too much time, as far as Donna is concerned. To make matters worse, every time she tries to talk to Eric about their relationship, he either shuts down or gets defensive.
Meanwhile, Hyde is struggling with his own relationship issues. He's been dating Jackie, but lately, he's been feeling like she's too controlling. She always wants to know where he is, what he's doing, and who he's with. He's starting to feel suffocated, but he doesn't know how to talk to her about it.
As Valentine's Day approaches, the gang decides to throw a party. Eric invites Casey, much to Donna's chagrin. She's hoping for a romantic evening with Eric, but she knows that's not going to happen with Casey around. As the party gets underway, tensions between Eric, Donna, and Casey start to boil over. Donna is tired of feeling like a third wheel, and she's not afraid to let Eric know it.
Meanwhile, Hyde and Jackie are at the party, and Jackie is determined to make it a romantic evening. She's brought candles, mistletoe, and even a CD of Barry White music. But Hyde is feeling suffocated, and he's not in the mood for romance. When Jackie asks him to slow dance, he reluctantly agrees. But as they dance, he starts to feel more and more uncomfortable. He can't stand the way she's always trying to control him, and he finally tells her how he feels.
The rest of the gang is oblivious to the drama unfolding between Eric, Donna, Hyde, and Jackie. They're too busy drinking, flirting, and having a good time. But as the night wears on, the tension in the air becomes palpable. Eric and Casey are at each other's throats, Donna is on the verge of tears, and Hyde and Jackie have just broken up.
As the party comes to a close, Eric tries to make amends with Donna. He realizes that he's been neglecting her and that he needs to put more effort into their relationship. Donna is still hurt, but she's willing to give him another chance. Meanwhile, Hyde is feeling relieved now that he's broken up with Jackie. He knows that he needs some time to himself, and he's grateful that Jackie was able to see his perspective.
In the end, the gang learns that relationships are complicated, and sometimes it takes a lot of hard work to make them work. But despite all the drama and heartache, they know that they can always count on each other to be there.
