Ep 8. Later, Buddy

Kamina, Simon, and Yoko travel to a nearby village in search for supplies and recruits. There, they meet a boy named Rossiu, who wants to leave the village and see the world for himself. Kamina tries to convince him to join their group, but Rossiu refuses and heads back to his home. Later, Kamina and Simon sneak into the village at night to try and recruit Rossiu again, but they end up getting caught by the villagers and thrown into jail.

The next day, Rossiu reveals that he knew they were coming back and had purposely gotten them caught so that they could be punished for disobeying the village rules. However, when a giant gunman controlled by the Beastman attacks the village, Kamina and Simon are released from jail to help defend it. Rossiu joins them in the fight, realizing that he can't just sit idly by while his home is being destroyed.

As they battle the Beastman, Kamina pilots Gurren Lagann and Simon operates the Lagann to fight alongside him. Together, they are able to defeat the enemy and save the village. Rossiu is impressed by their bravery and determination, and decides to join Kamina, Simon, and Yoko on their journey.

At the end of the episode, the group prepares to leave the village and continue on their quest to defeat the Beastmen and find Simon's lost family. Kamina is excited to have a new member in their party and is eager to see what kind of battles they will face next. Simon is still haunted by memories of his past, but is determined to stay strong and keep fighting. Yoko, meanwhile, shows concern for the safety of the villagers and hopes that they will be able to rebuild their homes and lives after the attack.
