In the episode "Turtles on Trial" from the third season of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, the four turtles—Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael—are put on trial for the crimes committed by their enemies, the Shredder and Krang. After a series of seemingly random and disastrous crimes are committed throughout the city, the police force and the public begin to suspect that the turtles are actually the culprits.
The turtles are eventually apprehended by the police and brought to trial, where they are represented by April O'Neil and Casey Jones, who argue that the turtles are innocent and were not involved in any of the crimes. However, the prosecutor, a ruthless lawyer named Granitor, is determined to see the turtles convicted and will stop at nothing to achieve his goal.
Throughout the trial, the turtles must rely on their quick thinking and resourcefulness to prove their innocence and clear their names. They call upon various witnesses—including Splinter, their sensei and father figure, and various friends and allies they have made throughout their adventures—to testify on their behalf and provide evidence that proves they are not responsible for the crimes committed by the Shredder and Krang.
As the trial progresses, however, it becomes clear that something more sinister is at play. Granitor is revealed to be working for the Shredder and Krang, who orchestrated the entire trial in an attempt to discredit the turtles and frame them for their crimes. With the help of their friends and allies, the turtles are able to expose Granitor and the true masterminds behind the trial, clearing their names and proving their innocence once and for all.
"Turtles on Trial" is a classic example of the kind of action-packed, humor-filled adventure that made the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series so beloved by fans. With its engaging storyline, lovable characters, and thrilling action sequences, it remains a favorite among viewers of all ages.
