Scott and Stiles are hot on the trail of the missing werecoyote, Malia Tate. They have a feeling that the Desert Wolf, Malia's birth mother, may have something to do with her disappearance. Meanwhile, Lydia is struggling with her banshee powers and has a vision that leads her to the Nemeton. She begs Scott and Stiles to let her come with them to find Malia, convinced that the answers they seek are hidden in the mystical tree.
As they dig deeper, they discover that the Desert Wolf may have a connection to a string of murders happening in Beacon Hills. The team races against the clock to find Malia and stop the Desert Wolf before more innocent lives are lost.
Meanwhile, Liam wrestles with the guilt of having accidentally killed a fellow student during a recent lacrosse game. His werewolf instincts are starting to take over, and he fears that he may be turning into a danger to himself and those around him.
Elsewhere, Kira is struggling with her own supernatural abilities. Her kitsune powers are growing stronger and more unpredictable, and she doesn't know how to control them. She confides in her mother, Noshiko, who encourages her to embrace her powers and use them to help her friends in their fight against evil.
The episode culminates in a thrilling showdown between the pack and the Desert Wolf. Malia is finally reunited with her adoptive father, but the battle is far from over. The pack must now band together to face an even greater threat that has been unleashed in Beacon Hills.
Overall, "Orphaned" is a gripping episode filled with nonstop action, intense character development, and jaw-dropping reveals. It propels the show's overarching plot forward while also delving deeper into the personal struggles of each character. Fans of Teen Wolf will not want to miss it.
