Scott is still struggling to come to terms with his newfound werewolf abilities. He is still trying to work out the best way to manage the urges that come with his transformation. Allison has been invited to a party at Lydia's house and he is tempted to go, but decides against it when he realizes that there will be a lot of students there.
Meanwhile, Jackson is still harassing Scott, even though he knows about his secret. Jackson is desperate to find out the truth and is convinced that Scott is hiding something from him. The tension between the two boys is palpable as they continue to clash over the course of the episode.
As the episode progresses, a new werewolf arrives in town. Derek has been following Scott and decides to approach him with an offer of help. At first, Scott is wary of Derek, but eventually agrees to hear him out. Derek explains that he was turned into a werewolf against his will and has been searching for a way to control his urges ever since. He tells Scott that he can help him learn to control his own transformation and that there is strength in numbers when it comes to taking on the other supernatural beings in the town.
Scott is initially hesitant, but eventually agrees to accept Derek's help. The two begin to work together, with Derek teaching Scott about the history of werewolves in the town and helping him to learn how to control his transformation. While Scott is grateful for Derek's help, he also begins to realize that Derek has his own agenda and is not necessarily acting in his best interests.
As the episode draws to a close, Scott and his friends gather at the school for a lacrosse game. Scott is playing for the first time since his transformation and is nervous about how he will manage his abilities. Jackson is also on the team and the tension between the two boys is at an all-time high. As the game progresses, Jackson becomes increasingly aggressive towards Scott and things begin to get out of hand.
In the end, it is up to Scott to control his transformation and save himself and his friends from harm. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with Scott realizing that the town is much more dangerous than he ever could have imagined. He knows that he will need to step up and become a leader in order to protect himself and those he loves from the supernatural threats that lurk in the shadows.
