The Groover is the twelfth episode of the fifth season of the animated TV series Teen Titans Go! The episode revolves around the Titans needing a break away from their usual superhero duties for a while. As they discuss what they can do on their break, Robin comes up with the idea of spending time at a new amusement park called the Groovy Grove. The idea immediately catches the Titans' attention, and they unanimously agree to go.
Upon arriving at the amusement park, the Titans find out that the Groovy Grove is full of dancing and music attractions. Each of the Titans gets to have their particular kind of preference, and they all tend to enjoy themselves as they dive into the different activities. Robin, with his immeasurable love for order, takes charge of compiling a to-do-list, ensuring that everyone gets the chance to participate in their preferred Groovy Grove activity.
The Titans then jump headfirst into their chosen activities, with everyone trying to outdo each other. Beast Boy shows off some of his impressive dance moves while Cyborg looks to win at dance battle competitions. Starfire, on the other hand, is excited to create some of the most vibrant outfits. Meanwhile, Raven finds the perfect chill room to relax and meditate in.
As the Titans continue to explore the Groovy Grove, they realize that the park has a hidden agenda and they discover that their leader, Robin, might be a pawn in a more significant, master plan. Robin is forced into an embarrassing dance routine to open the Ghost Train ride, where he’s exposed to a mysterious, mind-altering substance that begins to affect the other Titans too.
The Titans get unwittingly affected by the mysterious substance, and their personalities transform due to the mind-altering effects. They start acting awfully, forgetting their relationships and what makes them superheroes. The Titans are no longer interested in doing anything other than dancing and are led by a new groove master, who has replaced Robin.
As everyone gets lost in the dance craze, Robin is the only one unaware of the Groovy Grove’s new, mysterious owner and the ongoing plot to take control of the teens. In the meantime, his fellow Titans are lost in their dance mists, seemingly never wanting to recover from their newfound groovy state.
Soon, Robin sees something isn't right when his friends start to exhibit different behavior. Acting as a leader, he’s determined to figure out what's going on and gets to do some investigating to uncover the reason behind the Titans’ odd behavior. Robin works tirelessly to reverse the effects of the strange potion and bring his fellow Titans back to their senses.
The Groovy Grove is about finding balance. As Robin tries to figure out the truth, he realizes his teammates' newfound groove may, in fact, be a distraction from the evils the park owner is plotting. It's a race to the finish, as Robin uses calm and humor to snap his friends out of their dance mists, and proves that the power of friendship cannot be beaten by a wicked plot.
In the end, the Titans regain their senses, thanks to Robin's heroic and quick thinking. They finally realize what a danger they were in at the Groovy Grove and team up to take down the park's villainous owner. The Titans teach the park owner a lesson in kindness, and a happier ending is secured. With the Groovy Grove finally free from the mysterious essence keeping the Titans enchanted, the entire group embraces in a group hug before Robin takes out his clipboard to confirm they did everything on the to-do-list.
Overall, The Groover is an episode full of music, dance, and mystery. The episode excels at combining thrilling superhero action with hilarious moments. Teen Titans Go! fans and lovers of animated superhero series would enjoy this episode.
