Ted Lasso season 2 episode 7 titled "Headspace" begins with a glimpse of the turmoil and stress all the characters are going through. The episode puts Ted, Dr. Sharon, and Roy in the face of difficult situations where they take charge of their feelings and manage to turn it all around.
We see Ted struggling with his panic attacks that he's been experiencing frequently. He tries to cover it up and put on a brave face, but it’s Dr. Sharon who sees through his façade and urges him to seek help. In the meantime, Ted receives an offer from Jamie Tartt, who he had once dismissed from the team, but he must decide if he is ready to forgive Jamie and take him back onto the AFC Richmond team.
On the other hand, Roy is struggling to connect with his young nieces through their love of TikTok dances and he turns to Keeley for help, who tries to show him the ropes of how to do the dance routines. As Ted starts to take Dr. Sharon’s mental health advice seriously, he turns himself to mindfulness meditation and gains a different perspective on things happening around him. This shift allows him to be more empathetic towards Jamie and understand him in a way he never did before. Ted shows his leadership skills in this moment, setting aside past grievances to mentor Jamie on being a team player.
