Tarzan and the Songbird is the 25th episode of the second season of the TV show Tarzan. In this episode, Tarzan is out on a walk in the jungle when he hears an enchanting melody. He soon discovers that the song is being sung by a beautiful young woman named Mara, who is being held captive by a cruel hunter named Dino.
Tarzan is immediately taken with Mara and wants to help her. He confronts Dino and demands that he release Mara, but Dino refuses, insisting that Mara is his property and that he plans to sell her to a wealthy collector. Tarzan is determined to free Mara, but he soon realizes that he may have to resort to more extreme measures to do so.
Meanwhile, Jane and the others are searching for Tarzan and begin to worry when he doesn't return. They eventually come across Mara's village and learn of her captivity. Jane is furious and demands that they mount a rescue mission. However, the other villagers are hesitant, as they fear Dino and his men.
Despite the danger, Tarzan decides that he must act to save Mara. He knows that Dino and his men are heavily armed, so he devises a plan to take them by surprise. He enlists the help of some of Mara's friends in the village, and together they sneak up on Dino's camp.
The plan is successful, and Tarzan and the villagers are able to overpower Dino and his men. They free Mara and take her back to the safety of the village. Tarzan is overjoyed to have saved Mara and begins to develop strong feelings for her.
However, Mara is hesitant to reciprocate Tarzan's feelings. She is grateful to him for saving her, but she has her own mission to complete. Mara is a member of a rare bird species, and she has come to the jungle to find her mate and continue her species. She fears that she may have lost her chance if her mate has already found another.
Tarzan understands Mara's plight and helps her search for her mate. They travel deep into the jungle, facing dangerous predators and difficult obstacles along the way. Despite the challenges, Tarzan and Mara grow closer, and Tarzan begins to hope that he may have found his own mate.
Eventually, Mara and Tarzan come across the rare bird species and spot Mara's mate. Mara is overjoyed to have found him, but she is also saddened to realize that she must leave Tarzan behind. Tarzan is heartbroken but understands that Mara must do what is best for her species.
The episode ends with Tarzan saying goodbye to Mara and watching her fly off with her mate. He is left alone in the jungle, but he knows that he will always have the memories of his time with Mara and the knowledge that he helped her fulfill her mission. The episode closes with Tarzan looking wistfully into the distance, wondering what adventures the jungle will bring him next.
