Ep 58 - Butch Cassidy: In this episode of Tales of Wells Fargo, Jim Hardie (Dale Robertson) is on the trail of the notorious outlaw Butch Cassidy (played by William Bramley), who has been spotted in the area. Hardie has a personal stake in capturing Cassidy, as he and his former partner, Tom, were once robbed by Cassidy and his gang. As Hardie and his Wells Fargo team search for Cassidy, they come across a family whose wagon has been hijacked by the gang. Hardie tracks down the stolen goods and returns them to the family, but not before confronting Cassidy in a tense showdown. Cassidy, outnumbered and outgunned, realizes he cannot win and surrenders peacefully to Hardie. However, when a corrupt sheriff arrives and tries to take Cassidy into custody, a violent skirmish ensues, and Hardie and his team must fight to protect Cassidy and prevent him from being lynched. In the end, Cassidy is taken into custody and Hardie reflects on the difficult choices he had to make in order to bring the outlaw to justice.
