Ep 5. A Time to Kill

In the fifth episode of Tales of Wells Fargo season 1, titled "A Time to Kill," a group of outlaws have been terrorizing the stagecoaches on Wells Fargo's Sacramento to St. Louis line. The company investigates and finds that the leader of the gang is none other than a former Wells Fargo agent, Tom Crenshaw.

Jim Hardie, played by actor Dale Robertson, is tasked with bringing Crenshaw to justice. He disguises himself as a cowboy and travels to the town of Wilsonville, where Crenshaw is rumored to be hiding out. There, he meets the sheriff, who is a friend of Crenshaw's and is wary of helping Jim. However, Jim is able to convince him to assist in the capture of the outlaw.

Jim soon learns that Crenshaw is not working alone. He has a partner, a man named Dan Palmer, who is working as a ranch hand in the area. Jim begins to suspect that Palmer is also involved in the stagecoach robberies.

As Jim investigates, he also begins to fall for a local woman named Laurie. However, Laurie has a dark secret: she is actually the sister of Dan Palmer. She is torn between her affection for Jim and her loyalty to her brother.

As tensions rise and the outlaws become more violent, Jim must work quickly to bring them to justice and protect the Wells Fargo line. Will he be able to catch Crenshaw and Palmer before it's too late? And what will happen to his budding romance with Laurie?

"A Time to Kill" is a classic episode of Tales of Wells Fargo, featuring plenty of action, suspense, and romance. It showcases the talents of Dale Robertson, who brings Jim Hardie to life with his trademark charm and toughness.
