Tales of Wells Fargo season 1 episode 11, titled "The Hijackers," follows Jim Hardie, a special agent working for the Wells Fargo company. In this episode, Hardie must investigate a string of hijackings that have been occurring on Wells Fargo stagecoaches in the area.
As the episode begins, a Wells Fargo stagecoach is attacked and robbed by a group of masked men. Hardie is called in to investigate the incident and determine who is behind the attacks. He interviews the driver and guard who were on the coach and learns that they were ambushed by a group of men who were heavily armed and seemed to be well organized.
Hardie begins to investigate every lead he can find, trying to piece together who is responsible for the attacks. He goes to speak with the local sheriff, who tells him that he suspects a group of outlaws who have been causing trouble in the area are behind the robberies.
Hardie decides to go undercover to try and gather more information about the outlaws. He travels to a local saloon and begins to mingle with the locals, trying to get a sense of who might be involved in the robberies. He eventually meets a man named Fagan who seems to be suspiciously well-off for someone who doesn't have a job. Hardie decides to follow Fagan and sees him meeting with a group of men who he recognizes as the same outlaws from the stagecoach attacks.
Hardie reports back to his superiors at Wells Fargo and they begin to plan a sting operation to catch the outlaws in the act. Hardie and a group of Wells Fargo agents set up a fake stagecoach and wait for the outlaws to strike.
Eventually, the outlaws attack the fake coach and a gunfight ensues. Hardie and the other agents are able to capture most of the criminals, but one of them manages to escape. Hardie follows the man and confronts him in a showdown. After a tense standoff, Hardie is able to subdue the criminal and bring him to justice.
