In season 2 episode 6 of Tales From the Crypt titled "The Thing From The Grave," we are introduced to a successful businessman named Jeffrey, who seems to have it all - a beautiful wife, a fancy car, a luxurious home, and plenty of money. However, he is haunted by his past relationship with a young woman named Tanya, who he treated poorly and eventually abandoned for his current wife.
One day, while driving down a deserted road, Jeffrey spots Tanya hitchhiking and offers her a ride. He apologizes for his past actions and promises to make it up to her by showering her with gifts and money. Tanya reluctantly agrees and begins to manipulate Jeffrey, demanding more and more expensive gifts.
Feeling cornered and desperate, Jeffrey turns to his best friend and business partner, Carl, for help. Carl suggests that they hire a hitman to take care of Tanya and make her disappear for good. Jeffrey agrees to the plan and hands over a large sum of money to Carl to hire the hitman.
However, things take a dark turn when the hitman turns out to be none other than Tanya's vengeful brother, who has been seeking revenge on Jeffrey for his mistreatment of his sister. The brother kidnaps and tortures Jeffrey, forcing him to face the consequences of his actions.
Throughout the episode, we see Jeffrey's regrets and guilt over how he treated Tanya, and how his past actions led to his downfall. "The Thing From The Grave" is a cautionary tale about the dangers of mistreating others and the consequences that can come from greed and desperation.
