Sinon, Kirito, and company are down in the sewers, in search of Behemoth, the boss-class monster that Sinon has been hunting solo since before the BoB. She briefs her teammates on its poison breath and other, more physical attacks, as well as its extremely high level and defense stats. Kirito reminds everybody to keep their minds on the task at hand, as they're in for a tough fight.
They soon encounter Behemoth, a massive, elephant-like beast that rampages through the tunnels and ignores their attacks. Sinon uses her Hecate II to take a potshot and is surprised when the bullet ricochets harmlessly off the creature's hide. Behemoth charges her, but Kirito and Death Gun intervene, provoking the monster into chasing them instead. It's a tense game of cat-and-mouse as the team tries to wear out Behemoth and whittle down its health bar. LLENN manages to nick it with her P-chan from her position up above, but it's not enough to deter Behemoth from breaking through walls and sending them flying.
Just when it looks like they're out of options, Kirito receives a field report from Asuna, who's rejoining the game after a long time away. She's been working with a quest NPC to gather information on Behemoth, and she's discovered a weakness in its armor that can be targeted by long-range sniper fire. Sinon realizes that this is exactly what she's been waiting for and sets up shop in a nearby tower. She lands several critical shots with her Hecate II, confirming the weak points and revealing Behemoth's core, which appears to be made of petrified wood.
Meanwhile, Kirito and Death Gun are doing their best to keep Behemoth at bay, using their mobility and teamwork to outmaneuver the lumbering beast. They exchange battle techniques and observations, impressed with each other's prowess. Sinon gets the green light from Asuna to go for the core, but just as she's preparing to shoot it, she's intercepted by Death Gun, who's abruptly filled with a sense of urgency. He tells her that he knows how to defeat Behemoth, but they have to act fast.
With no other options, Sinon follows his lead and lands a hit on Behemoth's core, causing it to crumble. The monster roars and collapses, leaving a valuable loot chest behind. Sinon and Death Gun escape the tower just as it explodes, thanking each other for their hard work and teamwork. Kirito arrives on the scene and congratulates them all on a job well done, while LLENN and Fukaziroh declare that they're excited for the next challenge.
On the homefront, Asuna discusses her findings with Sinon and Kirito, revealing that the petrified wood may be a clue to the identity of Death Gun's partner. They speculate on who it could be and what their motive might be for attacking players, but they don't come to any conclusive theories. As night falls and the team heads back to their respective virtual homes, they share a feeling of camaraderie and a resolve to keep pushing forward.
Overall, episode 9 of Sword Art Online II season 2 is a thrilling and action-packed romp that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. The combination of Sinon's sniping skills, Death Gun's unexpected tactics, and Kirito's leadership make for a formidable team, and the fight against Behemoth is a true test of their abilities. The episode also hints at deeper mysteries and intrigues lurking beneath the surface of the virtual world, which will undoubtedly be explored in future episodes.
