Jules and Ophelia continue their vigilante mission to take down sexual assaulters on campus in Sweet/Vicious season 1 episode 2, titled "The Writing's on the Wall."
The episode opens with Jules attending a support group meeting for survivors of sexual assault. There, she meets a girl named Bailey who shares her story of being raped by a member of a popular campus fraternity. However, when Jules gets into trouble during the mission, Ophelia realizes that they might need to recruit some more help.
Back on campus, Jules and Bailey team up to gather evidence against Tyler. They break into his room and find a video of him and his frat brothers sexually assaulting another girl. Jules is overcome with anger and frustration and channels her emotions into painting a giant mural on the wall outside the fraternity house, depicting Tyler as a rapist and calling out the Greek system for enabling and covering up sexual assault.
As Jules and Ophelia continue their crusade, they start to attract more attention from both supporters and haters. Their vigilante activities also start to take a toll on their personal lives, as Jules struggles with PTSD and Ophelia faces questions from her ex-boyfriend about her sudden interest in activism.
"The Writing's on the Wall" is a powerful episode that tackles the topic of sexual assault on college campuses head-on. The show's creators manage to balance the seriousness of the subject matter with moments of humor and lightheartedness, making Sweet/Vicious a compelling and addictive watch.
