- December 18, 2020
In the first episode of Sweet Home, we are introduced to our main character, Cha Hyun-su. Cha is a high school student who is struggling to cope with the sudden death of his family. He is consumed by his grief and guilt, feeling as though he could have done more to save them. He moves into a new apartment building, Green Home, hoping for a fresh start.
It becomes clear from the very beginning that something is not quite right in Green Home. Strange things start happening, and Cha can sense a dark presence in the building. He tries to ignore it, but soon he is forced to confront it head-on. The residents of Green Home are being transformed into monstrous, terrifying creatures, and they seem to be targeting Cha.
One of the standout features of this episode is the incredible special effects. The creature designs are truly terrifying, and the prosthetics and makeup are incredibly realistic. This show is not for the faint of heart; there are plenty of jump scares and gore throughout the episode.
The tension builds slowly but steadily throughout the first episode, and by the end, things are really starting to heat up. We see Cha's transformation from a grieving, isolated teenager to someone who is determined to fight back against the creatures that are threatening his new home. His strength and resilience are admirable, and it will be interesting to see how his character develops over the course of the season.
The other residents of Green Home are also fascinating characters. We meet a rebellious high school student named Lee Eun-hyeok, who is at first dismissive of Cha but soon becomes an ally. There is also a former detective named Pyeon Sang-wook, who is investigating the strange occurrences in the building. It's clear that each of these characters has their own demons to face, and it will be intriguing to see how their stories intertwine over the course of the season.
Overall, Sweet Home season 1 episode 1 sets the stage for what promises to be an intense and thrilling show. The action is non-stop, the characters are well-developed, and the special effects are top-notch. Fans of horror and suspense will definitely want to check this one out.
