Cam Calloway, an African American basketball player with a bright future, is the main character of Survivor's Remorse. Episode 7 of season 3, entitled The Guests, explores the relationship between Cam and his manager, Reggie, as they navigate a nightmarish dinner party hosted by a wealthy, influential woman.

At the beginning of the episode, Cam is feeling a lot of pressure. His team is going through a bit of a rough patch, and the media is hounding him for interviews and scoops. He turns to his manager and confidant, Reggie, for support, but things only get worse when they get an invitation to a dinner party from high-society denizen Missy Vaughn. Missy, who is an old college acquaintance of Reggie's, is notorious for her lavish parties and for her power in the business world, but Reggie insists that they attend, promising that it will be good for Cam's career.

The dinner party soon takes a turn for the worse, however, when Cam realizes that he and Reggie are the only black people at the event. It becomes clear that Missy has invited them as a kind of tokenism, and Cam quickly becomes uncomfortable as the other guests begin asking him insensitive questions about his race and his career. Reggie tries to smooth things over by playing along with the wealthy elite, but Cam refuses to be treated like a monkey in a zoo.

As the night goes on, tensions rise, and Cam becomes more and more frustrated with Reggie's willingness to pander to Missy and her guests. He begins to see Reggie as just another puppet of the white elite, and he starts to question the values and priorities that have led him to this point in his life. The guests, meanwhile, become more and more inebriated, and the conversation becomes increasingly inappropriate and offensive.

The climax of the episode comes when Missy blames Cam for poor etiquette and tries to force him to make a speech. Cam, exasperated and fed up, launches into a blistering takedown of the oppressive nature of the white establishment, calling out Missy and her guests for their insensitivity and arrogance. The fallout from this scene sets the stage for the remaining episodes of the season, as Cam and Reggie try to figure out how to navigate a world that seems increasingly hostile to their ambitions and dreams.

Overall, The Guests is a tense, uncomfortable episode that highlights some of the most pressing issues facing African Americans today. The conflict between Cam and Reggie serves as a perfect microcosm of the larger issues of race and inequality that pervade our society. Whether or not Cam will be able to overcome these issues and achieve success on his own terms remains to be seen, but viewers of Survivor's Remorse will surely be rooting for him as he moves forward in his journey.
