Amy and Jonah are at their wit's end as they try to deal with the aftermath of a massive computer system malfunction at Cloud 9. The episode begins with the employees of the store attempting to go about their daily business in a store that is running on limited functionality. Confusion reigns as price tags are missing, inventory is inaccurate, and the computer systems are down.
As the day wears on, the employees' frustrations continue to mount, and tempers flare. Glenn, who is particularly distraught about the situation, tries to take matters into his own hands by attempting to fix the computer system himself. His efforts only serve to exacerbate the situation, and it quickly becomes clear that they need professional help.
Meanwhile, Amy and Jonah are trying to keep calm as they deal with an endless stream of customers who are becoming increasingly agitated as they encounter problem after problem. To make matters worse, the store's phone system is down, leaving them unable to call for help.
It's not long before chaos ensues as frustrated customers begin to vent their anger at the employees, and fights break out amongst shoppers over the limited stock that is available. Even Mateo, who is usually calm and collected, loses his cool and starts to lash out at his colleagues.
As the situation spirals out of control, Amy realizes that they need to take drastic action to regain control of the store. She decides to round up a team of employees to tackle the problems one by one, and together they begin to make progress. At the same time, Jonah convinces the remaining customers to cooperate with them, promising them a discount on their purchases as a sign of goodwill.
With their combined efforts, they are able to restore some semblance of order to the store and keep the customers happy. In the end, they are finally able to get in touch with IT support, who are able to fix the issue and restore the store to its former glory.
Despite the stressful day, the employees are in good spirits as they celebrate their victory with an impromptu party in the break room. However, as they sit back and relax, they know that they will need to remain vigilant as they face the challenges of working in retail.
