In Superstore season 3 episode 19, titled Lottery, the Cloud 9 employees are in a frenzy as the store's lottery jackpot reaches a record high of $300 million. Some employees, like Glenn, Dina, and Cheyenne, believe that they are the luckiest individuals and will undoubtedly win. Jonah, on the other hand, doesn't care about the lottery and thinks that it's a waste of time and money. However, when he learns that Kelly bought a ticket, he decides to buy one as well.
Meanwhile, Amy is dealing with the aftermath of her divorce. While she's trying to keep herself busy, she's having a hard time adjusting to her new life. She's also facing some tough questions from her young daughter, Emma, who's trying to understand why her parents decided to split up. As Amy tries to explain the situation, she becomes more emotional and agitated. Her stress levels only increase when she learns that her ex-husband, Adam, is dating again.
Back at the store, Mateo is dealing with a new problem. He's received a new Walkie Talkie, which makes it more efficient for him to communicate with other employees. However, he quickly realizes that everyone is treating him like a robot because they can't see his facial expressions when he communicates via the device. Mateo is left feeling dehumanized and frustrated.
As the day progresses, the employees become more and more obsessed with the lottery. Everyone starts to imagine what they would do with the money if they won. Some of their ideas are ludicrous, while others are surprisingly practical. Glenn, Dina, and Cheyenne even go so far as to make a pact to share the winnings if one of them wins.
However, their excitement is short-lived when they learn that the winning ticket was sold at a different store. Despite this setback, the employees come together to support Sandra, who mistakenly thought that she won the lottery and told everybody about it. She's embarrassed and upset when she realizes her mistake. But, the employees make her feel better and show her that they care about her regardless of whether or not she's a millionaire.
Meanwhile, Amy is still struggling to come to terms with her new life. She's experiencing a wide range of emotions, from sadness to anger to confusion. She's also having trouble focusing on her work. When a customer tries to make small talk with her, she snaps at him and walks away. Later, she confides in Jonah and tells him about some of the challenges she's been facing. Jonah listens attentively and offers her some helpful advice.
In the end, the employees leave the store, and everything goes back to normal. Despite not winning the lottery, they've all learned valuable lessons about teamwork, friendship, and the importance of staying humble. Amy still has a long way to go before she fully recovers from her divorce, but she's taking things one day at a time. As for Jonah, he's gained a new appreciation for the people he works with and is happy to have them in his life.
