SuperNews! was an animated sketch comedy series that aired on Current TV from 2005 to 2010. The show was created and produced by Josh Faure-Brac and Marne Mayer, and its ensemble cast was led by comedian Natasha Leggero, who served as a writer, producer, and voice actor.

The format of the show was similar to Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" segment, with Leggero delivering satirical news stories and commentary on current events. However, unlike SNL, SuperNews! used animation to bring its sketches to life, with characters ranging from politicians to celebrities to regular people on the street.

One of the standout features of SuperNews! was its biting humor and sharp social commentary. Leggero and the writers skewered everything from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to the financial crisis to pop culture trends like reality TV and social media. The show was unafraid to take on controversial topics and push the envelope with its humor, often using vulgar language and sexual innuendo to get its point across.

Despite its irreverent tone, SuperNews! was also a showcase for Leggero's comedic talent. Her delivery was deadpan and sardonic, and she had a knack for finding the absurdity in everyday situations. Whether she was portraying a vapid Hollywood starlet or a harried soccer mom, Leggero brought a unique perspective and a quick wit to every sketch.

Another notable aspect of SuperNews! was its animation style. The show was produced using a combination of traditional 2D animation and motion graphics, giving it a distinctive look that was both retro and modern. The characters were all highly stylized, with exaggerated features and bold colors that made them instantly recognizable.

SuperNews! also made use of a variety of recurring segments and characters, such as the "Yay!" and "Boo!" girls, who would cheer or jeer various news items; the "SuperFail" segment, which highlighted embarrassing moments in pop culture; and the "Superheroes" sketches, which lampooned real-life politicians and other public figures. These recurring elements gave the show a sense of continuity and allowed viewers to become invested in the characters and their antics.

Overall, SuperNews! was a standout comedy series that combined sharp satire with distinctive animation and strong performances from its ensemble cast, led by the irreverent Natasha Leggero. While the show only ran for five seasons, it left a lasting impression on viewers who appreciated its bold humor and willingness to tackle controversial subjects.
