In season 13 episode 3 of Supernatural, titled "Patience," viewers are introduced to a new character, Patience Turner (played by Clark Backo), a teenage girl who discovers she has inherited psychic abilities from her grandmother. Patience is hesitant to embrace her powers, but with encouragement from her mother, Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes), who fans may remember from the earlier seasons, and a little bit of help from the Winchesters, she starts to explore them.
Meanwhile, Sam and Dean investigate a series of mysterious deaths in Kansas City, which they believe to be the work of a psychic creature known as a wraith. They team up with Missouri Moseley (Loretta Devine), a psychic they met back in season 1, to try and stop the wraith and unravel the case.
The episode explores the idea of family legacies and the struggle that comes with discovering and accepting one's true identity. Both Patience and Missouri must confront their past traumas and losses in order to harness their abilities and help the Winchesters in their fight against evil. There is also a beautiful moment where Missouri and Jody share memories of their past and reflect on their role as strong female leaders in a world dominated by male hunters.
As always, the episode is filled with witty banter, heart-wrenching moments, and epic monster fights, making it a must-watch for fans of the series.
