Sam and Dean investigate a series of drownings in Lake Manitoc, Wisconsin. They arrive in the small town and pretend to be FBI agents to gain access to the local sheriff's office. They learn that the town has a long history of drownings and it has been plagued by the phenomenon for several generations.
The brothers are introduced to Andrea Barr, a mother who lost her son to the lake. Her father drowned in the lake when she was a child, and she believes that her son's death is connected to the town's curse. Sam and Dean investigate further, and they find out that the town is built on a Native American burial ground.
The ghost of a Native American warrior is haunting the lake and seeking revenge for his tribe's treatment by the white men who settled in the area. Andrea Barr's family has a connection to the Native American tribe and has been targeted by the ghost. Sam's psychic abilities come in handy as they attempt to track down the ghost's remains.
As they investigate further, they discover that the town's dam was built on top of the burial ground, and it is responsible for the ghost's return. The brothers figure out that the dam wall is in danger of collapsing, which would result in catastrophic flooding and a high death toll.
Sam and Dean work together to put a stop to the ghost's reign of terror. They retrieve the ghost's remains and burn them, thus breaking the curse. They evacuate the town just in time before the dam wall collapses, saving the townspeople from certain death.
