Ep 8. Mxyzpixilated

In season 2 episode 8 of Superman: The Animated Series titled "Mxyzpixilated," Superman finds himself up against a mischievous imp named Mr. Mxyzptlk. When the imp comes to Earth from the 5th Dimension, he uses his powers to cause chaos and wreak havoc on Metropolis. Mr. Mxyzptlk enjoys causing trouble and making the people of Metropolis, including Superman, suffer.

The episode begins with Superman stopping a group of thieves from robbing a jewelry store. Just as he's about to fly off, he hears laughter and looks up to see Mr. Mxyzptlk floating in the air. The imp introduces himself and tells Superman that he's come to have some fun. Superman tries to reason with him and tells him to go back to his home dimension. However, Mr. Mxyzptlk is not interested in leaving and instead decides to cause chaos in the city.

The imp gains his power from people laughing at his antics and soon finds himself the center of attention as he causes more and more trouble. He breaks into a TV station and starts broadcasting his antics to the entire city, causing everyone to laugh at his jokes. Mr. Mxyzptlk then starts messing with Superman, causing him to get trapped in a giant bubble and fly around the city like a balloon. He then makes Superman disappear and reappear in different parts of the city, causing more chaos.

Superman realizes that he cannot defeat Mr. Mxyzptlk through physical force and instead needs to outsmart him. He uses his intelligence to trick the imp into saying his name backward, which sends him back to his home dimension. However, just as Superman thinks he's won, Mr. Mxyzptlk returns, angrier than ever. He reveals that he has taken control of all electronic devices in the city and can cause destruction on a much larger scale.

Superman and his team, including Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, race against time to stop Mr. Mxyzptlk before it's too late. They find a way to create a feedback loop that reverses the imp's control over the electronics. With Mr. Mxyzptlk defeated, Superman sends him back to his home dimension once and for all.

The episode ends with Superman reflecting on the fact that defeating Mr. Mxyzptlk was not a simple matter of using brute strength. He realizes that sometimes, the best way to defeat an enemy is to outsmart them and use your intelligence to find a solution.
