Cleo Has the Answers / Spike the Scavenger is the first episode of the second season of Super Monsters. The show follows a group of young monsters who attend preschool at Pitchfork Pines.

As Cleo and Zoe set off on their hunt, Cleo's mind is still preoccupied with the riddle. She absent-mindedly bumps into Spike, a young dragon who is known for being clumsy and forgetful. Spike, who is also on a scavenger hunt, accidentally drops his list of items, and it flies into a nearby bush. Cleo, who is still in her own world, does not offer to help him look for it. Instead, she continues on with Zoe, who is not having much luck finding the items on their list.

As they search for a purple feather, Cleo spots one in a tree. She confidently climbs up and grabs it, only to realize too late that it was a purple squirrel's tail. Zoe points this out, but Cleo is too embarrassed to admit her mistake. Instead, she confidently declares that she has the answers and leads Zoe to the next item on the list.

Meanwhile, Spike is frantically searching for his lost list. He bumps into his friend, Lobo, a werewolf who is also on a scavenger hunt. Lobo offers to help Spike look for the list. As they search, they come across some of the items on Lobo's list, and they realize that they have both been given the wrong list. They decide to team up and help each other, determined to find all the items before the day is over.

Back at the school, Cleo and Zoe are struggling to find the last item on their list - a yellow flower. Cleo is getting frustrated, and Zoe is starting to lose confidence. Cleo remembers the riddle she has been trying to solve and realizes that the answer is right in front of her. She spots a patch of yellow flowers and confidently goes to pick one, only to realize too late that they are actually weeds. Zoe points this out, but Cleo is too embarrassed to admit her mistake.

As the time for the scavenger hunt draws to a close, the various groups return to the school with their findings. Cleo and Zoe are one of the last groups to return, and they are the only ones who did not find all the items on their list. Cleo is disappointed, but Zoe reminds her that it's okay and that they still had fun.

As they are about to head back to their rooms, Spike and Lobo arrive with all the missing items. They explain what happened with the lists and how they worked together to find everything. Cleo is impressed and realizes that working together and admitting your mistakes is better than trying to do everything on your own. She also realizes that she has been so caught up in her own riddle that she has been ignoring her friends. She apologizes to Spike for not helping him earlier and offers to help him find his way back to his room.

In the final scene, the monster kids are gathered in the living room playing a game. Cleo still hasn't found the answer to her riddle, but she is happy to be spending time with her friends. The episode ends with the group happily playing together, showing that it's not always about finding the right answers, but about enjoying the journey with the people around you.
