Ep 38. Karate Koopa

Mario and Luigi are busy fixing their plumbing in Brooklyn when a mysterious package arrives. Inside, they find a golden karate trophy, a letter, and a map leading to Japan. The letter is from Princess Toadstool, who explains that her friend, Prince Haru, is in trouble. He was trying to defend his kingdom, Sanozaki, from King Koopa and his Koopa Troopas, when he was taken prisoner. The only way to free him is by winning the annual All-Asia Karate Championship and using the prize money to bribe Koopa's guards.

Mario and Luigi immediately accept the challenge and set off on a journey to Japan. Along the way, they meet an old sensei named Hiroshi, who teaches them some karate moves. When they arrive in Sanozaki, they are surprised to find that the king has brought his own champion, Karate Koopa, to compete in the tournament.
