As Sue investigates, she finds out that the man, whose name is Jack, faked his death so he could get away from debt and his past life. With Sue's help, Jack decides to come out of hiding and face his past instead of continuing to live as a criminal.
Meanwhile, Sue's parents face financial troubles as their church is facing foreclosure. Bobby, Sue's childhood friend, offers to help them by holding a fundraiser at his diner. The fundraiser is a success, and Sue's parents are able to keep their church.
