- November 20, 2009
In the eighth episode of Student Council's Discretion, entitled "Student Council Envies," the members of the student council find themselves envious of those around them. As the school's cultural festival approaches, the council members are tasked with creating their own exhibit. However, they soon discover that their neighboring class has come up with an idea that they believe is far better than their own.
As they attempt to come up with a new idea, the student council members begin to feel envious of the other class and their successful plan. The envy only grows as they watch other students throughout the festival, seemingly enjoying life and having fun.
Meanwhile, the council's advisor, Sakurano Kurimu, has her own envy to contend with. As the student council president, she is often praised and looked up to, but she begins to feel envious of the other council members and their abilities. As the festival draws to a close, the council members must reckon with their envy and come to terms with their own strengths and weaknesses.
Throughout the episode, themes of friendship and self acceptance are explored, as the student council members learn to appreciate their own unique talents and work together to create something truly special for the cultural festival.
