Still Game season 6 episode 2, titled Fly Society, follows the daily misadventures of two old Glaswegian friends, Jack and Victor, and their group of eccentric neighbors in the Craiglang neighborhood.
The episode begins with Jack and Victor getting ready for a fishing trip and reminiscing about old times. The two friends are excited to escape their mundane lives and enjoy a day out in nature. However, their plans are derailed when Winston, another neighbor, invites himself on the trip.
As they arrive at the river, they discover that it’s been taken over by a group of posh anglers who call themselves “The Fly Society.” Jack and Victor are not impressed by the group's elitist attitudes and their overly complicated fishing gear. Nonetheless, they set up their own simple lines and begin to fish.
Meanwhile, back in Craiglang, Isa, another neighbor, is fed up with her old refrigerator and decides to buy a new one. However, when she realizes that it won’t fit through the front door, she enlists the help of Navid, the local corner shop owner, and her friends to get it inside. Chaos ensues as they attempt to maneuver the large appliance through tight spaces and staircases.
Back at the river, tensions rise between the Fly Society and the Craiglang fishermen. After an argument over the etiquette of catching and releasing fish, Jack and Victor decide to play a prank on the posh anglers by pretending to catch a large fish and releasing it back into the water. However, the prank goes wrong when they accidentally hook Winston instead.
As Winston writhes in pain, the Fly Society quickly packs up and leaves the river. Jack and Victor feel guilty and decide to take Winston to the hospital. Along the way, Winston reveals that he has a secret talent for painting and is excited to attend an upcoming art class. Jack and Victor are impressed by his skills and supportive of his newfound passion.
Meanwhile, back in Craiglang, Isa finally gets her new fridge inside with the help of Navid and her friends. However, she quickly realizes that it's too big for her small kitchen, and the episode ends with her exasperatedly staring at the oversized appliance.
Overall, Still Game season 6 episode 2 is a humorous and lighthearted episode that showcases the everyday antics of the Craiglang residents. Despite their differences, the neighbors come together to help each other out, and the episode is filled with heartwarming moments of friendship and community.
