Ep 2. Shirt Club / Love Letters

Steven Universe is an animated television series that tells the story of a young boy named Steven who is half-human and half-gem. Other gems have accompanied Steven throughout his journey, including Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, and others. In season 3 episode 2 titled "Shirt Club / Love Letters," Steven creates a T-shirt for his favorite musician, inspired by Greg's old rocker tees.

In order to communicate with Peridot, Steven sends her a love letter via the communication device.

Back in the car wash, Steven feels discouraged and disappointed by Marty's response to his T-shirt. His friends arrive at the car wash and see the shirt, leading to mixed reactions. Some of them, like Amethyst, think the shirt is cool, while Pearl dislikes the shirt and thinks that it is too simplistic. Eventually, Steven and his friends come to the conclusion that everyone has different tastes and that it is okay for people to like different things.

In the second part of the episode, Steven and the Gems try to help him write a love letter to Connie. Initially, Steven struggles to express himself on paper and he gets into awkward situations with Connie. In the meantime, Peridot responds to Steven's love letter and expresses her confusion and frustration about Earth and the Crystal Gems. Steven wants to help Peridot understand and assumes that sending more love letters will help her.

In the end, Steven learns that communication can be difficult, but it's still important to express our feelings to people. He also learns that some people may not like what he creates or his interests, but that doesn't diminish the importance of them. Additionally, Steven finds a way to communicate with Peridot on a more personal level and this interaction will set the course for future episodes in the series.
