Step It Up is a dance reality television show that premiered on Lifetime in 2015. The show follows three young dancers, Traci Young-Byron, Kayla Bechor, and Katy Mikelle as they run their own dance companies and compete against each other to create the best dance routines. Each episode has a different theme and the dancers must create a routine that showcases their unique dance styles and creativity.

Traci Young-Byron is the founder of the Young Contemporary Dance Theatre in Jamaica, Queens. She is a former member of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and has danced with numerous other companies throughout her career. She is known for her choreography that often tackles social issues and incorporates African and Caribbean dance styles. In the show, Traci is the eldest of the three dancers and serves as a mentor and role model for the younger dancers.

Kayla Bechor is the owner of the Inspire Dance Company in Tampa Bay, Florida. She is a former NFL cheerleader and has danced in the NBA and WNBA. Kayla's dance style is influenced by jazz, contemporary, and lyrical dance. She is also an experienced choreographer and loves to experiment with different dance styles to create unique and compelling routines. In the show, Kayla is the youngest of the three dancers and is often seen trying to prove herself to her more experienced counterparts.

Katy Mikelle is the founder of the Kreativ Mindz Dance Academy in Dallas, Texas. She is a former backup dancer for Beyoncé and Destiny's Child and has also danced for other major artists such as Usher and Chris Brown. Katy's dance style is hip-hop based and often incorporates elements of popping, locking, and breaking. In the show, Katy is the most competitive of the three dancers and is always striving to come out on top.

The show consists of eight episodes and each episode features a different theme, such as "Girl Power" or "Love and Heartbreak." In each episode, the three dancers are given a challenge to create a dance routine based on the theme. The dancers are given a limited amount of time to choreograph the routine and properly train their dancers to perform it. Once the routines are completed, the dancers compete against each other in front of a panel of judges in a dance battle.

The judges consist of dance industry professionals such as choreographers, dance studio owners, and dancers themselves. The judges critique each routine and provide feedback to the dancers. The winner of each episode is determined by the judges and wins a cash prize.

Throughout the show, the viewers get an inside look at the dancers' personal lives and the struggles they face running their own dance companies. The dancers are often shown dealing with financial struggles, personal relationships, and the pressure to succeed. The show highlights the importance of hard work, dedication, and passion in pursuing a career in dance.

Overall, Step It Up is a fun and entertaining reality show that showcases the talent and creativity of three incredible dancers. The show is inspirational and highlights the importance of following your dreams and working hard to achieve your goals. If you love dance or are looking for an uplifting and inspiring show, Step It Up is definitely worth watching.
