Frank and Carol are thrilled when their youngest son, Brendan, gets accepted into a prestigious private school. However, their excitement is short-lived when Brendan comes home from his first day of school with a black eye. Brendan explains that he got into a fight with a classmate who called him a "crybaby." Frank and Carol are upset but unsure of how to handle the situation.
Meanwhile, Karen is dealing with her own issues at school. She wants to join the wrestling team, but the coach isn't sure if a girl can handle the physical demands of the sport. Karen tries to prove herself by wrestling with a male classmate, but ends up injuring him and making things worse for her case.
Elsewhere, J.T. and Rich are on a mission to build the ultimate clubhouse in their backyard. They enlist the help of a neighborhood kid, but things quickly spiral out of control when they start using power tools and accidentally damage the neighbor's garage.
As the parents try to navigate their kids' various situations, they come to realize that sometimes boys will be boys, but it's important to teach them how to express themselves in a healthy and productive way. In the end, they all come together to support each other and learn valuable lessons about growing up.
