Stella & Sam season 2 episode 20, "Signs of Spring," follows the charming sibling duo as they eagerly await the arrival of spring. After a long winter, Stella and Sam are more than ready for the warmer weather and blooming flowers. In this episode, they set out on a nature walk to look for signs of spring.
They notice the trees starting to bud, flowers starting to poke out of the ground, and birds chirping. As they continue their walk, they also notice a nest that a bird has built. Stella explains to Sam how the bird built the nest, laid eggs, and will soon have baby birds hatching.
As they walk, they also come across a stream that has melted after being frozen all winter. Stella teaches Sam how to skip stones and they have a competition to see who can skip the most.
Later on, they come across a muddy puddle and decide to jump in it, splashing each other with glee. They notice the mud on their boots, pants, and even faces. Stella explains to Sam how the mud will dry and flake off, just like the snow did during the winter.
After their walk, they head back to the house and decide to make a spring-inspired craft. They gather materials from the yard like sticks, leaves, and pinecones and make a beautiful wreath to hang on the door.
As they finish their craft, they notice a light rain starting outside. Stella tells Sam to stand still and listen, and they can hear the sound of the raindrops hitting the leaves and ground. They also notice a rainbow forming in the sky. Stella explains to Sam how rainbows are made from the light reflecting through the raindrops.
The episode ends with Stella and Sam snuggled up on the couch, watching the rain, and feeling grateful for the signs of spring they witnessed on their walk. They excitedly plan all the activities they want to do once the weather gets warmer, like planting a garden and having a picnic.
