Starsky and Hutch season 2 episode 11, titled "Nightmare," follows the two detectives as they investigate a string of brutal murders in the city. The episode starts with a young woman named Anna who is terrified for her life after witnessing a murder in an alleyway. She turns to Starsky and Hutch for help, but she is unable to provide any information about the killer aside from a vague description of a supposed "nightmare man."
As they begin their investigation, Starsky and Hutch discover that the killer is targeting young women who work as phone operators for a local company. They also learn that the killer has been using a specific type of untraceable poison to kill his victims. With this knowledge, they work towards finding a connection between the victims in hopes of identifying the killer before he strikes again.
The detectives eventually link all the murders to a man named Palmer, who happens to be one of the company's top executives. However, they discover that Palmer is a skilled con artist who has been impersonating various characters to manipulate the women he's targeting. This revelation makes their job even harder as they try to track him down.
Meanwhile, Hutch gets romantically involved with one of the phone operators, which puts her in danger. When Palmer learns of Hutch's interest in her, he uses her as bait to lure Hutch into a trap. As things start to spiral out of control, Starsky and Hutch must race against time to prevent Palmer from claiming another victim.
Overall, "Nightmare" is a tense and thrilling episode that showcases the dynamic duo's determination to bring a dangerous killer to justice. With plenty of twists and turns along the way, viewers are left on the edge of their seats until the very end.
