After realizing that the Goa'uld System Lord Amonet (who was previously thought to be dead) has given birth to a Harsesis child, SG-1 sets out to find and protect the child. However, once they locate him, things take a dark turn when the team discovers that the child has the ability to control people's minds and actions with his powers.
As they try to figure out the extent of the child's powers, SG-1 becomes increasingly concerned about the potential danger he poses. When Daniel Jackson becomes the Harsesis' first victim, the team is forced to reckon with the fact that they may have to eliminate the child in order to protect themselves and the galaxy.
Meanwhile, Jack O'Neill begins experiencing vivid and disturbing nightmares that seem to be related to the Harsesis. As he struggles to make sense of what's happening to him, O'Neill becomes increasingly convinced that the child's powers represent a grave threat to the galaxy and that he is the only one who can stop him.
As tensions rise and allegiances are tested, SG-1 must confront the question of just how far they are willing to go in order to protect themselves and the galaxy from a potentially unstoppable force. With each passing moment, the stakes get higher, and it becomes increasingly clear that the fate of the galaxy rests on the decisions made by these few brave explorers.
