SG-1 journeys to a planet whose inhabitants have an average lifespan of just a hundred days. They are greeted by the friendly people who worship the Stargate as a holy object. The team members are stunned when they are invited to a ostentatious feast, and Prince Optrican reveals that the meal will also serve as a rite of passage for Daniel Jackson.
After some initial hesitation, the crew is drawn in by the lavish party and the joy of the locals. Daniel finds himself the center of attention and quickly integrates himself with the prince's daughter, Kynthia. The team's position changes quickly once they realize that Optrican attended a mysterious device that transformed Daniel and Jack into specimens without their knowledge. Jackson's lifespan has been advanced and he is now aging considerably faster.
O'Neill and the SG-1 staff are captured and sentenced to the same device as Daniel. As the team struggles with the repercussions of their own mortality and strives to escape, Daniel must find a way to stop the dangerous technology from continuing to take away innocent lives.
