The SG-1 team travel to a planet where they find themselves in the middle of a disastrous situation. The inhabitants of the planet are suffering from an ancient virus that has been reactivated by a group of off-worlders. The virus causes the infected to regress back to a primal state, and as a result, the planet is thrown into chaos.
While on the planet, the SG-1 team become infected with the virus and must race against time to find a cure before they succumb to the effects of the virus. The situation is further complicated when SG-1 members, O'Neill and Carter, are separated and are forced to fight their way through the now-primitive population in order to find a way to stop the virus from spreading.
As SG-1 searches for a cure, they discover that the virus is tied to a mysterious artifact that the off-worlders had brought with them. They learn that the artifact was used to create the virus and that it was meant to be a weapon of mass destruction. However, the creators of the virus had made a mistake, and instead of being able to target specific groups, it became uncontrollable and affected the entire population.
With time running out, SG-1 races to find a cure. While searching for the cure, they discover that the virus can turn people into violent and dangerous creatures. The SG-1 team must fight their way through the infected population and the off-worlders who brought the artifact to the planet. Along the way, they encounter a group of survivors who have managed to develop a temporary cure for the virus.
After a series of intense battles, SG-1 manages to find a cure for the virus and save the planet from further destruction. However, the experience leaves the SG-1 team emotionally exhausted, and they return to Earth with a new understanding of the dangers of off-world travel and the potential consequences of their missions.
