Ep 1. Children of the Gods: Part 1

In the pilot episode of Stargate SG1, entitled "Children of the Gods: Part 1," viewers are introduced to Colonel Jack O'Neill, played by Richard Dean Anderson, and his team of scientists and military personnel as they embark on a mission to another planet through a wormhole created by a mysterious artifact known as the Stargate. The team includes archaeologist Dr. Daniel Jackson, played by Michael Shanks, astrophysicist Lt. Samantha Carter, played by Amanda Tapping, and Teal'c, played by Christopher Judge, a rebel warrior from an alien race known as the Jaffa.

Upon arriving on the planet Abydos, the team discovers that the artifact is actually a gateway to other worlds and that the planet is currently under the control of a powerful alien race known as the Goa'uld. They also discover that the Goa'uld have enslaved the human population of Abydos, using them for labor and for experimentation.

While exploring the planet, the team comes across a young woman named Sha're, played by Vaitiare Bandera, who is married to Daniel Jackson's best friend, a local named Skaara. The team also discovers another Stargate, which leads to a hidden location on earth, where they encounter General Hammond, played by Don S. Davis, who informs them that the discovery of the Stargate was kept secret from the public and that their mission is to explore other worlds and gather knowledge and technology to protect earth from potential threats.

The team soon realizes that they are not alone on Abydos when they are attacked by a group of Jaffa, who are working for the Goa'uld. In the ensuing battle, Skaara is taken captive and Sha're is abducted and possessed by a Goa'uld known as Apophis. The team returns to earth, bringing with them Sha're's brother and several other humans from Abydos, who have been granted asylum on earth.

As the first episode of Stargate SG1, "Children of the Gods: Part 1" sets up the premise of the show and introduces the main characters, as well as the concept of the Stargate and the various worlds that the team will explore. It also sets up several key plot points that will continue throughout the series, such as the ongoing conflict with the Goa'uld and the team's mission to protect earth from otherworldly threats. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with the team preparing to launch a rescue mission to save Skaara and Sha're from the Goa'uld.
