Miller's Crossing is the 9th episode of season 4 of Stargate Atlantis that follows the adventures of a team of explorers who venture to another galaxy through a wormhole with an alien device called the Stargate.
In this episode, the Atlantis team receives a distress call from Dr. Nicholas Rush, a member of the crew of Destiny, a ship that was launched before the Atlantis expedition. The message from Dr. Rush informs the team that the crew of the Destiny is in peril as they are running out of supplies, and they are quickly approaching a hostile planet.
Therefore, the Atlantis team decides to help the crew of Destiny by launching a rescue mission. They start by dialing the Stargate and arriving on a desolate planet where they hope to find a way to contact the Destiny. However, they soon discover that they are not alone as they encounter a fugitive named Vincent who has taken refuge on this planet.
Vincent seems to be hostile towards the team, and he inquires about their mission. The team explains the situation, and Vincent informs them that he has a ship that can take them to the Destiny, but he demands that they give him a million dollars in exchange for the service. Dr. McKay, who is a member of the team, realizes that Vincent is not telling the truth, and he surmises that Vincent is a thief.
Despite the risks, the team decides to go along with Vincent's offer and agrees to his terms. Vincent leads them to a hidden hangar where he shows them his ship. The ship looks old, but it is in good condition, and it resembles a cargo ship. Dr. McKay, who is intrigued by the ship, asks Vincent how he came across such a ship, but Vincent refuses to answer.
The team boards the ship, and they set out to locate the Destiny. However, to their surprise, the ship's navigation console has been damaged, and they are unable to navigate through hyperspace. This news puts the team in a precarious situation, and they realize that they must fix the console before they can continue their journey.
Meanwhile, Vincent disappears into the ship's cargo hold, and suspicions arise about his intentions. The team goes to the cargo hold and finds that Vincent has stolen some valuable crystals that are essential for repairing the navigation console. The team confronts Vincent, and he confesses that he stole the crystals to sell them to the highest bidder.
Feeling betrayed by Vincent, the team locks him up, and they try to fix the console themselves. However, they soon realize that they need the crystals that Vincent stole to complete the repair. With no other options, they reluctantly free Vincent, and he helps them fix the console.
With the navigation console repaired, the team sets out for the Destiny, but they soon realize that the planet they are approaching is very hostile. The atmosphere is highly toxic, and they only have a few hours before the ship's oxygen supply runs out.
After some intense moments, the team manages to land the ship on the Destiny and rescue the crew. However, as they are about to leave the planet, Vincent makes a surprise appearance, and he reveals that he only stole the crystals to help his sick daughter. The team learns that Vincent is not as bad as they thought, and they decide to help him in return for his assistance.
In the end, the team manages to rescue the Destiny's crew and get them to safety. The episode ends with the Atlantis team saying goodbye to the crew of Destiny as they prepare to embark on another adventure.
