As corruption spreads throughout the galaxy, the Jedi Council sends Senator Padmé Amidala to the planet of Pantora to investigate. In "Corruption," Season 3 Episode 5 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the senators of Pantora are faced with a shortage of supplies, and some of them are accepting bribes to ensure that their respective planets receive the goods first. When Padmé and her team land on Pantora, they discover that the planetary system's chairman, Papanoida, has asked the Trade Federation for help, much to the displeasure of the people of Pantora.
Padmé, wanting to investigate further, begins to question local officials, but her inquiries are met with suspicion. She eventually discovers that the Trade Federation was behind the planetary crisis all along, and they were working with local officials to drive up the demand for supplies. This would allow the corrupted officials to accept bribes and manipulate the flow of goods once they were released.
As Padmé tries to uncover the truth, she is attacked and taken hostage by a group of thugs. It is up to a young Pantoran named Riyo Chuchi to rescue her and secure a shipment of critical medical supplies that will help those in need.
Meanwhile, Ahsoka Tano and Lux Bonteri, a young Separatist leader, are on a mission to rescue Senator Bonteri's mother, who has been captured by the Republic. Lux, who is seeking revenge against the Jedi, finds an unexpected ally in Ahsoka, and the two form an unlikely team.
However, their mission is complicated by a group of corrupt Republic officers, who are working with the Separatists to capture Ahsoka and Senator Bonteri. Ahsoka and Lux must find a way to work together and outwit their enemies if they hope to rescue Lux's mother and escape with their lives.
The episode "Corruption" highlights the corruption and greed that can sometimes plague political systems and how the Jedi must navigate these issues in order to maintain peace in the galaxy. It also showcases the importance of allies and unlikely partnerships when faced with challenging situations.
