After a successful infiltration mission to a Separatist shipyard, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obi-Wan are made aware of a disturbing discovery: bounty hunter Boba Fett is seeking revenge on Mace Windu for the death of his father, Jango Fett, in the Battle of Geonosis. The Jedi Council decides to use this knowledge as an opportunity to capture Boba and bring him to justice.
Meanwhile, Boba and his fellow bounty hunters capture Captain Rex and take him aboard their own ship. As the Jedi search for their missing comrade, Boba puts his plan into action, using Rex as bait to lure Windu into a deadly trap.
The episode takes a darker turn as Boba's vendetta against Windu becomes personal, adding emotional weight to the already intense action. The Clone Wars continues to push the boundaries of what is expect from a Star Wars story, exploring the moral grey areas of war and the consequences of one's actions.
The animation style is stunningly detailed and cinematic, with dynamic action sequences that fully utilize the strengths of the animated medium. The vocal performances are top-notch, with each actor fully embodying their respective character.
Overall, Death Trap is a thrilling entry in the second season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, highlighting the ongoing conflict between the Jedi and the Separatists while also delving into the complexities of character motivations.
