Ep 21. Frame of Mind

In Star Trek: The Next Generation, season 6 episode 21 titled "Frame of Mind", Commander Riker is seen descending into madness. He is performing in a play on an alien planet when he starts to experience hallucinations and is unable to differentiate between reality and imagination.

As the episode begins, Commander Riker is practicing for his role in the play, where he is portraying a man who is being held against his will in a mental institution. Meanwhile, Captain Picard is tormented by his captors, who are forcing him to participate in a series of disturbing psychological experiments. He is unable to determine whether his experiences are real or imagined, and he begins to doubt his own sanity.
