Star Trek: Prodigy is an animated sci-fi television series that premiered on Paramount+ in 2021. The show is set in the Star Trek universe and follows a group of young aliens who band together to embark on an adventure aboard a stolen spacecraft, the USS Protostar. The series is targeted towards a younger audience but still maintains the essence of the beloved franchise.

The main protagonist of Star Trek: Prodigy is a young girl named Dahj (voiced by Rylee Alazraqui), a member of an unknown species with telekinetic powers. Along with the help of her friends, Dal (Brett Gray), Murph (Dee Bradley Baker), Gwyn (Ella Purnell), Jankom Pog (Jason Mantzoukas), and Zero (Angus Imrie), Dahj sets out to explore the galaxy while avoiding law enforcement and nefarious villains.

Dahj, being the most skilled of the group, takes on the role of captain of the USS Protostar. She must learn how to lead her team, navigate the ship and make decisions under pressure. Her telekinetic abilities also prove to be useful in tricky situations, like when the team needs to make a quick escape or solve a puzzle.

Dal, a teenage Tellarite, is another key character in the series. He has a troubled past, having grown up in a harsh environment where he was forced to scavenge for resources. His experiences have made him resourceful and quick-thinking, but also prone to anger and frustration. Dal is constantly at odds with Dahj, who he believes is too strict and rigid. Despite their differences, the two must learn to work together to survive and succeed on their journey.

Murph is a cute, small, green alien who initially appears to be a simple pet. However, he quickly proves to be highly intelligent and capable of communicating with the other characters. His small size makes him the perfect spy, and he can easily sneak into tight spaces to gather information.

Gwyn is a tough and independent human girl who initially distrusts the group of aliens. She is forced to work with them when she is accidentally transported to the USS Protostar, and she gradually learns to trust and rely on them. Gwyn is skilled in engineering and technology, making her an important and valuable member of the team.

Jankom Pog is an alien with a shifty personality who often makes deals and bargains with the team, sometimes betraying their trust. He is self-serving, but occasionally proves to have a heart when it counts.

Zero is a hologram who was originally programmed to be a ruthless and deadly villain. However, after being reprogrammed by the team, he becomes a more compassionate and helpful member of the group. Zero serves as the ship's computer and provides the crew with essential information and guidance.

Throughout the series, the group faces numerous challenges and obstacles on their journey to uncover the secrets of the USS Protostar. They encounter a variety of different aliens and species, some of whom are friendly, while others are hostile. Along the way, they discover hidden rooms and secret passageways on the ship that reveal clues about its past and purpose.

Overall, Star Trek: Prodigy is an exciting and action-packed series that appeals to both fans of the franchise and younger audiences. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the animation is top-notch. The show provides a fresh new perspective on the Star Trek universe while still maintaining the spirit of exploration and adventure that fans have come to love.
