Captain Archer and Lieutenant Reed crash-land on a moon after their shuttlepod is attacked. The planet is inhabited by a Silicon-based race, the Kreetassans, who are upset that their trade negotiations have been interrupted and demand that Archer and Reed be handed over to them. T'Pol leads an away team to the moon to rescue the two stranded officers, but their rescue mission is complicated when they learn that the alien race has a very different concept of honor and justice. Meanwhile, back on Enterprise, Dr. Phlox discovers a way to cure Sergeant Mayweather's bout of homesickness. The episode explores the dangers of communication breakdowns, cultural misunderstandings, and the importance of empathy. As tensions rise and the threat of violence looms over the rescue mission, Archer and Reed must find a way to bridge the gap between their own cultural values and the values of their alien captors. Will the Enterprise crew be able to save their fellow officers and prevent an interstellar incident? Find out in "Dawn," a gripping and thought-provoking episode of Star Trek: Enterprise.
