Once More Unto the Breach is the seventh episode of the seventh season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The episode revolves around the Klingon character Kor and his desire to go on one last mission with the intention of regaining the respect of the Empire.
The episode begins with Kor arriving on Deep Space Nine after being dismissed from his duties in the Klingon Empire, as he is deemed too old to serve on the front line of battle. Kor is despondent and drinking heavily when Worf arrives, seeking his help in a mission against the Dominion. Worf is leading a team of Klingons who will be engaging the Dominion, and he wants Kor, an experienced warrior, to lead a regiment of Klingon ships to support them.
Though Kor is reluctant at first, he eventually agrees to join the mission, hoping it will give him the chance to restore his honor. As they prepare for the mission, Kor's mental and physical health begin to deteriorate, causing concern for his friends, including Jadzia Dax, who fears he may not be able to handle the stress of battle.
As they approach the battle, Worf and his team are struck by defeat and suffering heavy losses. Kor and his regiment arrive just in time to turn the tide of the battle, but not without Kor being severely injured in the process. While Kor lies wounded, he reveals to Jadzia the true reason behind his unquenchable thirst for honor: his family was stripped of their titles and status years ago, and he has been struggling ever since to regain his honor for them.
The episode ends with Kor being hailed as a hero of the Empire and Worf honoring his friend by giving him the ancient warrior's death, a ceremony reserved for the greatest Klingon warriors.
Once More Unto the Breach is an emotional episode that explores themes of honor, loyalty, and sacrifice. The episode marks the final appearance of the character Kor, who has been a staple in Star Trek canon since the original series. It is a touching tribute to the character and to the Klingon culture, and is a must-watch for fans of the franchise.
