Ep 23. Profit and Lace

Quark, the Ferengi bar owner on Deep Space Nine, inherits his late mother's business empire which includes a company that manufactures clothing for females. Much to his chagrin, he discovers that there is a law in Ferengi society that bans females from being business owners and he cannot legally take over the company. Determined to find a loophole, Quark disguises himself as a female Ferengi and attempts to negotiate a deal to sell the company.

Meanwhile, Kira Nerys, the Bajoran first officer of Deep Space Nine, is tasked with teaching Quark's greedy and sexist brother, Rom, about workers' rights. However, Rom is more preoccupied with his belief that his wife has been replaced by a changeling, a shape-shifting alien.

As Quark struggles to maintain his disguise and navigate Ferengi business politics, he finds himself in hot water with his own employees and the powerful leader of the Ferengi Commerce Authority. The situation becomes even more complicated when the Dominion, a dangerous alien empire, becomes involved.

Tensions rise as Quark's business venture becomes a matter of survival for Deep Space Nine and its crew. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles and come out on top? Find out in "Profit and Lace."
